Sidney Health Center is proud to announce Jill Clark, Ward Clerk/CNA, as the first recipient of the BEE Award, a new recognition program created to honor the exceptional contributions of non-nursing healthcare team members. The BEE Award — which stands for “Be Exceptional Every Day” — celebrates allied health professionals whose dedication, compassion, and collaborative spirit strengthen the healing environment across all areas of the organization.
Seven employees were nominated for the inaugural award, including Jill Clark, Gina Mata, Steve Case, Courage Wleh, Amanda Roote, Emily Keegan, and Twila Carey. Each nominee was recognized for consistently going above and beyond in their daily roles to support patients, residents, colleagues, and the community.
Jill’s nomination highlighted a moment when she demonstrated extraordinary empathy for a patient who was unable to attend an important family milestone due to hospitalization. Recognizing how meaningful the event was, Jill used her community connections to help arrange virtual access for the patient, ensuring they could still participate despite the circumstances. Her colleague shared, “Jill went above and beyond to support this patient and their family. She is truly a compassionate human, day in and day out. Sidney Health Center is so lucky to have Jill!”
Jill joined Sidney Health Center in 2014 and has served in multiple roles throughout her 20+ year career as a CNA, including work in the clinic, operating room, and now the Medical-Surgical Unit. She shared that she learned how to care for patients and coworkers from the best and has always enjoyed caring for those who need a little TLC.
In her current role, Jill’s day includes coordinating phone calls, scheduling appointments, requesting records, assisting with staffing schedules, and supporting nurses and CNAs whenever needed. “I feel like I have a calling to make things easier for my coworkers,” Jill said. “If I can do one thing that makes the day better for someone, I will do it.”
Beyond her daily responsibilities, Jill also helps build a positive workplace culture by coordinating team-building activities such as paint-and-sip events and charcuterie classes. She credits her coworkers for making her work especially fulfilling. “The people I work with make my job rewarding,” she said. “I learn so much from the fantastic nurses and CNAs on Med/Surg, CCU, and ER.”
Just as bees are small but mighty and essential to a thriving ecosystem, Sidney Health Center’s allied health professionals play an indispensable role in the organization’s success and the well-being of those served. The BEE Award celebrates individuals who embody these qualities through their everyday actions.
Employees can be nominated by patients, families, or colleagues. At Sidney Health Center, BEE Award recipients are selected by a dedicated committee and honored in a special ceremony twice a year. Each honoree receives a certificate of recognition, a BEE Award pin, and a plaque.
