Sidney Health Center welcomes internal medicine doctor

Sidney Health Center is pleased to announce the successful recruit of Noel Nguewoun, MD. Dr. Nguewoun joins the medical staff as an Internal Medicine physician. Starting in September, he will be seeing patients through the Primary Care Clinic.  

Dr. Nguewoun provides a wide range of primary care services to adults 18 years of age and older. His scope of practice includes preventive care and health maintenance. Also diagnosing, treating illnesses, and managing chronic conditions including, but not limited to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, and obesity.

In rural healthcare, we understand the value of providing access to care close to home as it positively impacts patient satisfaction and health outcomes.”

Dr. Nguewoun is not new to Sidney Health Center as he has worked with Dr.Rajohn Karanjai since 2016 on an internship basis and lastly during his elective rotations in the course of his medical residency.  He will continue working closely with Dr. Karanjai and the medical staff as part of the clinical and inpatient team.

Dr. Nguewoun received his medical degree from Germany (Medizinische Fakultät Mannheim, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, Heidelberg, Germany), then completed an internship in Radiation Oncology in Karlsruhe, Germany. He then went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai, Bronx VA program, New York City.

He has extensive experience with managing COVID 19 patients, as he was actively involved with their management during the height of the Pandemic in New York City. He managed patients primarily at James J. Peters VA Medical Center and NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx.

He lives in Sidney with his family, including three children, ages 11, 8 and 5. His wife, Dr. Malua Tambi, is an OB/GYN at Sidney Health Center.

He enjoys traveling, working out, and playing basketball.
