Pharmacy Staff on the spot interview

For National Pharmacy Week, a few staff members were asked to participate in a question and answer about working in Pharmacy.  The next “Pharmacy Staff on the spot interview,” is with Jamie Parker, Pharmacy Tech at Sidney Health Center.

Why did you choose to work in the pharmacy profession?
I always wanted to do something in healthcare and the opportunity popped up.

What do you do?
I work as a Pharmacy Tech for Extended Care, The Lodge, and group homes.  I set up med trays for these areas, fill refill requests, etc.  I also help in Clinic and Hospital pharmacies if needed.

How does your job improve patient care?
I prepare all the nursing home meds in an organized setting.

Do you have an interesting pharmacy tidbit?
There are lots of “little white pills.”
