Celebrating a Milestone in Clinical Informatics Leadership

At the end of February, Melissa Roth, RN, Director of Clinical Informatics, represented Sidney Health Center at Epic’s headquarters in Verona, Wisconsin, where she completed advanced training in EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation. This intensive two-week training experience is designed for analysts, builders, and those who train or support hospital-based Epic users—including physicians, nurses, and clinical staff.

Melissa successfully earned the EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation certification, a significant accomplishment that reflects her proficiency in building, configuring, and supporting Epic’s inpatient documentation workflows. Earning this badge required completing two complex projects and passing two rigorous exams, which Melissa did with distinction.

This certification not only strengthens Melissa’s individual expertise but also enhances our organization’s ability to optimize Epic for improved clinical efficiency and patient care. Her training included in-depth knowledge of key tools such as SmartTexts, SmartPhrases, SmartLinks, Navigators, Flowsheets, and Documentation Flows—all essential components for tailoring the electronic health record to better support our clinical teams.

We are proud to recognize Melissa’s achievement, which reinforces Sidney Health Center’s commitment to investing in our people and continuously improving the tools that support safe, efficient, and high-quality care.

Please join us in congratulating Melissa on this well-deserved accomplishment!
