Visitor's Guide
Visiting Patients at Sidney Health Center and Extended Care
COVID-19 Update:
Sidney Health Center knows that visitors are very important to a patient’s well-being and we appreciate the care and support visitors provide. At this time the CDC is no longer requiring that individuals be screened upon entering the facility or mandating the use of face masks for the general public.
Rather, public mask use in the facility is based on the Community Transmission Level in Richland County, including four categories:
Low – Face Masks Not Required
Moderate – Face Masks Not Required
Substantial – Face Masks Preferred
High – Face Masks Recommended
Face mask use is still required for individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses as well as those individuals who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Individuals who are COVID-19 positive will be asked to reschedule any non-urgent clinic visits or tests for 10 days from the onset of symptoms.
Currently, the visitation update only applies to the Clinic, Hospital and non-COVID-19 positive patients. For information regarding visitation at our long-term care facilities, call Extended Care or The Lodge for updated visitation guidelines.
As Sidney Health Center continues to monitor the number of active COVID-19 cases in the county, please note that visitations are subject to change and may be adjusted if the need arises.

Thanks for your understanding as we try to mitigate the spread of infectious disease in our facility.
Visitors are very important to a patient’s well-being and we appreciate the care and support many visitors provide. As a courtesy to our patients, Sidney Health Center asks that visitors be considerate of patient privacy and aware that patients need their rest. In addition, patients may be encouraged to limit their visitors to just a couple at a time.
Sidney Health Center has OPEN VISITING HOURS; however, there may be times that visitors are asked to leave the room. Instances may include:
- The patient needs rest.
- The doctor is making rounds or the nurse requests a later visit.
- When you have children with you that display any symptoms of illness.
Out of town visitors may stay at a nearby motel for a discounted rate. Please ask the social worker to assist you with this added benefit.
