Sidney Health Center’s Social Services offers Marketplace Assistance
November 6, 2025

Sidney Health Center is pleased to announce that Donnell Sirucek, Social Services Director, and KayLinn Hoffman, Social Services Assistant, have completed the Certified Application Counselor (CAC) training through the Federally-Facilitated Marketplace.

This certification equips them to help individuals and families understand their health insurance options and apply for coverage through HealthCare.gov.

“Health insurance can be complicated, especially for those navigating it for the first time,” said Donnell Sirucek. “As Certified Application Counselors, KayLinn and I are here to walk people through the process step by step — making sure they understand their choices and feel confident about their coverage.”

How a CAC Can Help

As Certified Application Counselors, Donnell and KayLinn can assist with:

  • Explaining Marketplace health plan options, including costs, benefits, and coverage levels
  • Checking eligibility for financial assistance such as premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions
  • Creating or updating your HealthCare.gov account
  • Completing and submitting a Marketplace application
  • Understanding application notices or responding to requests for more information
  • Comparing plans to help you choose the one that best fits your needs
  • Providing fair, accurate, and unbiased information throughout the process

What a CAC Cannot Do

Certified Application Counselors do not choose a plan for you or make decisions on your behalf. They also do not charge for their assistance — help is always free.
