The Smoking Cessation program at Sidney Health Center is here for you if and when you are ready to quit using tobacco. Our Respiratory Care Team will give you the tools to learn to replace cigarettes with other things that give you positive feelings. It is possible to learn to relax and clear your mind in more productive ways than smoking. Finding replacements for your addictions can be done with a little bit of effort.
Just as a reminder, following are just a few of the reasons to quit using tobacco:
For Your Health
- Tobacco use increases risk of cancer, heart disease chronic bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema—to name a few. If you quit, you will decrease your risk of these diseases and improve your overall health.
For Your Family
- If you quit using tobacco, you will live a healthier life and will be able to spend more time with those you love. Smoking cessation can add up to 10 to 15 years to your life.
To Save $$$
- Tobacco use is expensive! The average tobacco user can spend up to $5000 for cigarettes or $2000 for chewing tobacco each year. What would you do with the extra cash you’d save each year?
